In this fully remote role, you’ll play a vital role in providing network operations services, ensuring the seamless connectivity and security of the cloud backbone and LAN infrastructure.
Position Overview:
As a Remote Network Administrator, you’ll be responsible for operating, maintaining, and sustaining IP-based routers, switches, and standard operating systems on network devices.
You’ll configure Tier 2 routing and switching devices, design and implement solutions, and install and maintain network equipment to meet evolving requirements.
Your technical skills and dedication to providing responsive services will be crucial in ensuring the success of the HUD project.
Responsibilities:
- Network Operations: Provide network operations services for cloud backbone and LAN, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Integration and Deployment: Support the integration and deployment of new network solutions, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
- Operations and Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and sustain IP-based routers, switches, and standard operating systems on network devices.
- Configuration: Configure Tier 2 routing and switching devices to meet project requirements.
- Solution Design and Implementation: Design and implement network solutions to support new and emerging requirements, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Responsive Services: Provide timely and effective network-level configuration control, network restoration, quality control, and performance standards.
- Project Support: Support projects deployed by the client, ensuring network infrastructure aligns with project goals.
- Network Security: Ensure network rights and privileges are commensurate with roles and responsibilities.
- Issue Tracking: Use ITSM to report and track local and enterprise issues related to network and systems operations.
- Hardware and Software Management: Assist the government in maintaining positive control over hardware and software assets.
- Encryption Management: Be responsible for encryption equipment used on the network, ensuring control and safeguarding of configurations and user-level maintenance. Coordinate with the manager to ensure approved encryption keys are available.
- Wireless Network Support: Install and maintain network wireless equipment. Use provided wireless network devices for routing and switching, and provide responsive services including configuration control and restoration.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent with 6-9 years of relevant experience.
