GovCIO Media & Research is seeking a Web Editor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and updating our web content, improving site performance, and applying user experience (UX) principles to captivate our federal IT audience.
Position Overview:
As the Web Editor, you’ll collaborate closely with design, editorial, and marketing teams to ensure our digital content is optimized for maximum visibility and engagement.
You’ll implement daily content edits, maintain site functionality, develop landing pages, and conduct quality assurance checks to ensure a seamless user experience. Your expertise in web development technologies, UX/UI best practices, and SEO will be crucial in enhancing our online presence and achieving our business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Content Management: Implement daily content edits and updates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Site Functionality: Maintain and manage site functionality, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements as needed.
- Web Development: Develop landing page templates and web assets for various media products (podcasts, webinars, events).
- Quality Assurance: Conduct QA checks to maintain optimal functionality and accessibility across devices and browsers.
- User Experience: Prioritize and integrate testing to deliver an intuitive user experience.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in web operations or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in web operations, frontend development, or a related role, preferably for a media organization.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design).
- Knowledge of UX/UI best practices and testing platforms/tools.
- Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO concepts.
- Mastery of WordPress content management system.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent project management, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Mastery of HTML or CSS.
- Experience with UX tools.
- Experience with Google Ad Manager and Google Tag Manager.
