About the Role:
As a Remote Cloud System Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in managing and securing our clients’ cloud infrastructure. You’ll handle operating systems, software, hardware, and network configurations, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. You’ll also troubleshoot issues, implement security measures, and collaborate with support teams to maintain a robust and reliable cloud environment.

Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Establish and maintain the smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and standalone configurations within a cloud environment.
- System Upgrades: Upgrade systems and servers as required, ensuring compatibility and minimizing downtime.
- Problem Resolution: Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve system issues efficiently.
- Network & System Operations: Coordinate and perform operation and maintenance activities for networks and servers in the cloud.
- Problem Analysis: Identify recurring problems and recommend steps to reduce their severity or frequency.
- Technology Transition Planning: Plan for the transition of development and production environments to new technologies.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files and manage system data to maintain efficiency.
- Server Installation: Study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures in a cloud environment.
- Network Administration: Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments in the cloud.
- Security Implementation: Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware in the cloud.
- System Planning: Provide regular monitoring and analysis for short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain operational instructions and other relevant documentation.
- Scripting: Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
- System Improvement: Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Certifications:
- Must have or obtain IAT level II/III certification.
- Must have or obtain Linux/OS Certification.
- Demonstrated experience or certifications in Linux and/or AWS GovCloud technologies.
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance; must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams
- Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications (AWS GovCloud Specific)
- Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Certification(s) in relevant technologies
- Active Top-Secret clearance
