Position Overview:
As a Software Programmer at GovCIO, you’ll leverage your expertise in C# and SQL to build and enhance applications that streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Insurance Operations domain.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in the entire software development lifecycle, and ensure that your code adheres to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Design, code, and maintain applications and modules using C# and SQL, leveraging your expertise in the Microsoft Visual Studio toolset.
- System Upgrades: Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring they remain up-to-date and secure.
- Deployment Planning: Participate in the planning of system and development deployment, ensuring a smooth transition to production environments.
- Compliance: Ensure that all software development adheres to compliance standards and best practices.
- GUI Design: May design graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to meet the specific needs of users.
- Documentation: Prepare operating instructions, compile program development documentation, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Additional Modules: May build add-on modules using application program language.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in C# and SQL/TSQL.
- Expertise in the Microsoft Visual Studio toolset.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with software testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance.
