How You’ll Fit In:
As the Finance Associate, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining financial compliance and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You’ll manage accounts payable, assist with budgeting and reporting, and collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to regulations and guidelines. Your analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy will be essential in this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, travel reimbursements, and other payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP, OMB, Department of Justice, and other funding source regulations.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Assist with data collection for indirect cost recovery, office expenditures, and timesheet allocations. Post budgets to the general ledger and conduct budget reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Journal Entries & Reporting: Prepare and post journal entries to correct discrepancies and implement new reporting systems.
- Communication & Documentation: Communicate financial information to Justice Center staff and maintain organized financial and grant award files.
- Internal Controls: Work with the finance team to strengthen internal communications, systems, and controls.
- Grant Management: Close out grants/projects, monitor timelines and budgets, and bill external agencies.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: At least one year of work experience in accounting and/or financial analysis or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with financial accounting software (Financial Edge, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, etc.) and proficiency with spreadsheets and pivot tables.
- Financial Acumen: Working knowledge of how to prepare and interpret income statements and balance sheets.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, oral communication, and writing skills. Ability to distill and present complex information concisely. Excellent interpersonal skills, maturity, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $57,500-$78,000 per year (based on experience and geography)
