About the Role:
As a Remote Linux Systems Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the health and security of our clients’ server infrastructure. You’ll manage a variety of tasks, including server operations, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Your expertise in Linux administration, virtualization, and database management will be essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical systems.

Responsibilities:
- Server Operations: Manage server operations, including hardware, operating systems (OS), and utilities.
- System Administration: Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Security: Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Monitoring & Analysis: Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain operational instructions and other relevant documentation.
- Scripting: Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
- System Improvement: Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Assist with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and troubleshooting issues.
- Performance Optimization: Provide migrations, performance tuning, analysis, and support of infrastructure and internal hardware.
- Configuration Management: Provide configuration management and system monitoring.
- Virtualization: Responsible for centralization of courts and replication, and provisioning virtual servers and service management of all related Virtual Machines (VMs).
- Database Management: Provide monitoring of databases and support the infrastructure environment.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience).
- Technical Skills:
- Linux System Administration Skills (Red Hat)
- VMware Virtualization Experience – design, installation, and administration
- Database (Informix)
- Hardware Support Skills (HP Blades and Hitachi Storage)
- Clearance: Ability to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
