About the Role
As a Java Developer at GovCIO, you’ll be at the forefront of modernizing legacy systems, implementing critical system upgrades, and integrating new document management technologies. Your expertise in Java development, FileNet, and Agile/DevOps methodologies will be instrumental in ensuring the PBGC’s IT infrastructure is reliable, secure, and optimized for the future.
Responsibilities
- Java Development: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services within the FileNet and IPS Suite environments.
- Cloud Migration: Play a key role in upgrading and migrating legacy systems to the Azure Cloud, ensuring compatibility, performance, and scalability.
- System Upgrades: Upgrade and integrate EBTS applications to support FileNet 5.5.12 and the transition to IBM DataCap.
- Application Re-engineering: Collaborate with teams to re-engineer applications for Oracle 19c DB and WebLogic 14c R2 in the Azure cloud environment.
- Software Development Lifecycle: Support the entire SDLC, including testing, implementation, and maintenance, while upholding high software quality standards.
- DevOps: Develop and sustain DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot production issues related to Java applications.
- Change Management: Support change management efforts to help PBGC employees adapt to new technologies.
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in Agile project management activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience:
- 12+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong background in J2EE and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
- Experience with .ADF (Application Development Framework)
- Expertise in developing on Oracle WebLogic and significant experience with Oracle 19c DB and WebLogic 14c R2.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with QA frameworks and testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain DevOps processes and tools.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience with FileNet Content Manager and familiarity with IBM DataCap or similar document capture systems
- Experience with cloud migration projects, particularly to Azure.
- Certifications in Java, FileNet, Oracle, WebLogic, or Azure technologies.
