As a Remote System Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the stability and security of our clients’ IT infrastructure. You’ll manage operating systems, software, hardware, and network configurations, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Establish and maintain the smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and standalone configurations.
- System Upgrades: Upgrade systems and servers as required, ensuring compatibility and minimizing downtime.
- Problem Resolution: Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve system issues efficiently.
- Network & System Operations: Coordinate and perform operation and maintenance activities for networks and servers.
- Problem Analysis: Identify recurring problems and recommend steps to reduce their severity or frequency.
- Technology Transition Planning: Plan for the transition of development and production environments to new technologies.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files and manage system data to maintain efficiency.
- Server Installation: Study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.
- Network Administration: Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
- Security Implementation: Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- System Planning: Provide regular monitoring and analysis for short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain operational instructions and other relevant documentation.
- Scripting: Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
- System Improvement: Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience providing system administration services in a large, complex operating system environment.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
