In this fully remote role, you’ll leverage your analytical skills to provide financial insights, forecasts, and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making and improve the efficiency of the VETS program.
Position Overview:
As a Financial Analyst at GovCIO, you’ll be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, preparing reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize financial performance. You’ll utilize tools like Deltek Costpoint and TM1 to track key metrics, develop forecasts, and support budgeting processes.
Your expertise in financial analysis and reporting will be instrumental in ensuring the VETS program operates effectively and achieves its objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct economic research and studies to analyze financial performance, prepare forecasts, and provide recommendations to management.
- Budgeting: Compile and review budgets for corporate or organizational units, utilizing actual performance, previous budget figures, and estimated revenue.
- Reporting: Prepare financial plans, monitor financial policies, and create regular and special-purpose reports. Maintain historical records, analyze trends, establish cost rates and personnel forecasts. Â
- Performance Analysis: Define and develop key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze financial and operational performance, and track objectives to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Financial Statement Review: Review and analyze monthly corporate and business unit financial statements, as well as quarterly and annual financial data.
- Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field with 10 years of experience. 8 additional years of experience may be substituted for education.
- Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, TM1, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced Excel user, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay complex information concisely. Â
- Self-motivated, energetic, critical thinker capable of working with a diverse team.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
