About the Role:
As our Administrative Assistant & Billing Specialist, you’ll be the backbone of our practice, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. You’ll wear multiple hats, handling both administrative tasks and the critical financial aspects of our practice. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role that offers a chance to make a real impact on people’s lives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Patient Support: Be the friendly voice of our practice, answering phone calls and emails with warmth and professionalism. Schedule and confirm appointments, create electronic patient charts, and ensure every patient feels heard and valued.
- Insurance Billing: Navigate the complexities of insurance billing with confidence. Verify patient coverage, process payments, follow up on unpaid claims, and submit accurate electronic claim forms.
- Administrative Tasks: Keep our practice running smoothly by managing administrative spreadsheets, attending staff meetings, and collaborating effectively with the behavioral health team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: At least 1 year of medical/behavioral health billing experience, preferably in New York. Familiarity with in-network and out-of-network billing is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR), especially Simple Practice, is a major plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. You’ll need to be able to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, therapists, and insurance companies.
- Other Skills: You’re organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. You’re a quick learner who thrives on challenges and is committed to maintaining patient confidentiality.

- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical or behavioral health setting
