📋 Job Description
This is a remote contract part-time, role for a Teaching Assistant/Grader at Harvard Extension School. The Teaching Assistant/Grader will be providing support by assisting with grading assignments, conducting research, and providing feedback to students. The Teaching Assistant/Grader will also assist with course administration, such as managing online discussion boards, regularly responding to student emails, holding weekly office hours, updating the LMS and documents, and reporting about day-to-day occurrences. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail are necessary skills for this position. Course contracts are dependent on student enrollment. This role requires approximately 10-20 hours of time per week, with certain times of the semester requiring more or less dedication.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Master’s degree (MA/MS/MFA) in computer science, IT, design, graphic design, communications design, marketing design, or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of Digital Media Design and Visual Communication Design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Ability to hold weekly virtual meetings with instructor
- Ability to hold one minimum weekly virtual office hour and occasional one-on-one meetings with students when requested
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Experience with online learning platforms or learning management systems (LMS)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to draft strong professional emails
- Experience in grading assignments and providing feedback helpful
- Must be available for entire semester (September 2, 2025 to December 20, 2025)
- MUST be legally authorized to work in the United States
Contractual salary is minimum $4,520 for 15-week semester and mandated by the Harvard Graduate Students Union (HGSU). Salary may increase based on student enrollment. Contract is for Fall 2025.
